Chicago Big 95.5 Country Christmas

uso2019

From the private party sound checks with Carly Pearce and Photo ops with Hardy, it was a great Country Christmas Concert.  Dylan Scott closed it out after the  ugly Christmas sweater contest.  Toys for Tots drop off thanks to Big 95.5 ChicagoJoe’s Live,  Rosemont and Magellan for treating us “jusRight”.  Chi Time to rest the boots.

Feliz Navidad and Merry Christmas.

Eyewitness to #Pearl Harbor Attack

Authors meet…Navy veteran Robert Lee shared stories with me about December 7, 1941, what he saw during the attack at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu. First wave reported Japanese air strike of 110 aircraft was at 7:55AM.  The second Japanese air strike of 130 aircraft was 55 minutes later. Above pictures left to right: The Lone Sailor memorial, In red shirt; Robert Lee, The Lone Sailor and dufflebag, a Sailor uniform worn during the attack, USS Arizona memorial, USS Arizona Anchor, USS Arizona Torrents and Sunrise at Honolulu. Author and illustrator; Allen Seiden of Pearl Harbor

The greatest loss of life as a result of the Pearl Harbor attack was on the USS Arizona..1,177 men.  It was considered to be the main memorial from the attack. 130 ships were in port that morning including; USS Oklahoma, USS California, USS Marilyn, USS Tennessee, USS Utah and USS W.Virginia which sustained loss of life, major damage to complete loss.  Total loss of life resulting from the attack; 2,500 men.  The USS Enterprise, USS Saratoga and the USS Midway avoided damage because they were not in port that morning.

Reader Finds Inspiration

Screenshots with one of my messenger friends.  She shared with me how after giving my books to her neighbor she was inspired to seek her career in the Military.  I thought it was funny reading how she was having a hard time with all of the “yelling”.  I warned everyone about that part of training in book one, #InMyOwnWords. I guess you would just have to experience that pressure personally. She is focused and determined, no doubt she will complete her goal.

30 Years Later

30 years later our joint operation sign remains thanks to Volker Strehblow (seen in picture pretending to be busy). Air force personnel on the first floor, and Army. Myself only active duty military along with 6 civilian counterparts upstairs in dispatch. Memories of VIP’s of various branches flew into and landed here.

Reaching Out

I was surprised to receive a gift from a former Military Police Soldier from my First Unit; 118th MP Co. Airborne and Friend: Bruce Litiza.  He claims to be breezing through my books and I was taken back when he said these things to me; ” You did great“,  “knowing you – you can only do proud“, and “Love the story on door position on your second jump“.

Thanks Bruce for the miniature company Guidon (Cross Pistols).  I see who loves the camera!
