Career Soldier TM, The Career Soldier Series TM
The Career Soldier Series TM; A 3 book collection summarizes a 20 year Army soldier retiree viewpoint of what a Career Soldier is. After completing my Basic, Military Occupational Skill (MOS), and Airborne Training to be stationed at Fort Bragg as the first Black Female Airborne Military Policewoman in 1978 stationed in the 118th Airborne MP Co. and its legacy, set the standard for my understanding the meaning of Duty, Honor, and Country for the rest of my military career.
With a change in my MOS to Air Traffic Controller during the Reagan Administration, with duty in Korea, Europe, and the USA military post, to ending my career as a Flight Operations Branch Chief, where I served in Europe and the USA, enabled me to have a viewpoint of the military that I felt compelled to share with readers.
I do not and can not speak for all soldiers, however as An MP we were the “Soldier’s Soldier”. I wanted to share my story in hopes to convey to my readers the reality of the pain and sacrifice, along with the different levels of perplexity in technical skills acquired, along with the human factor which a soldier and at times Department of Defense civilians (DAC) encompasses individually and collectively during a career in the military.
The gained insight of my viewpoint of Careers some lost and gained by many while serving projected by myself, a female doing as what many Americans may see as a “male” job in a predominately male environment shows that strength and determination along with courage is a requirement for survival for both sexes alike.
I salute the woman who wore boots before my service entrance which were the (WACs), Woman’s Army Corp. Whom I am certain that they have equally challenging stories that a few has shared..but many never will. I will always have a unique sense of brotherhood for both the men and woman who has served in the Army Forces before during and after my career service.
