Holiday Greetings

This holiday season has been like none other with COVID -19. Social media has been super charged by redefining the boundaries of its usage, which has brought many people from all over the world a little closer together. A fellow MP paratrooper thought this time of reflection would be the perfect opportunity to reconnect with some of the guys and gals of 118th MP ABN Co. from the 70’s. We shared moments with each other and a few pics. Not just memories but seeing in these pics that we were really all friends that happened to be Soldiers… Paratroopers, that extra hazard that we faced once a month or so. The (extra glue) besides the third extra hazard; policing. Bragg runs adjacent to a major interstate. Triple daily threat. Thanks Lisitza. AATW (and then some).

Below pic: SSG C. Hunt, Sp4 Monte, PV2 M. Hanks, Sgt. P. Rice, PV2 M. Pickett, Sp4 B. Ferreira (all from 118th Abn MP Co) and (dog patrols); Sp4 F. Crotty and Sp4 D. Frye of 21st MP Co. (leg) 503rd MP Battalion were awarded by Major General R. Ochs Dep Commander of XVIII Airborne Corps. All were awarded for apprehending 3 armed robbers (with sawed off shot guns) on Fort Bragg.

D.Olding with the Colonial’s driver on the DZ, decided to try on the “full bird” hat while he was jumping.

Uniform wear was in another transition. From our jungle fatigues (normally worn when jumping), to the solid OD green fatigues, to the camouflage set. You see different authorized uniform variations worn at any given time. We typical wore our burgundy beret except for jumps then it was our helmet with soft cap available.
